STOP CHEATING...SAVE CHESS

The issue of  "techno cheating" in chess has come back to limelight after AICF lifted the ban on Uma Kant Sharma, so far the only player having been caught red handed with blue-tooth near his ears during a match.

While a former Gold Medallist in the Olympics was put behind bars in the U.S. after she admitted to doping for success, the suspected Indian chess players continue to reap rich dividends by getting top government awards and winning important titles. On the other hand, many young players, who toil hard for success are suspected to cheat.

Why is the Federation deliberately soft on the subject? There are rumours that a whole "Cheating Industry" is operating in certain parts of India taking money from players to guarantee them success by unfair means.

Please let us know your opinions on this extremely sensitive subject.

  1. lifting the ban from Uma Kant Sharma is really questionable and we players should unite against this action Of the AICF. this act itself affects the image of indian chess as a whole...

  2. It is really bad to see that ban on umakant sharma is lifted as due to him and his "boss" many chess players have lost a lot not only financially but pschologically. It was news that umakant sharma was planning to play in the rival league and AICF did not want a 2400 player(he is not even an 1600 player but anyway)to play in the rival league it was a known fact to a lot of top players that AICF was making a deal with umakant.I advise AICF to think about the hardship faced by majority players and act or else suffer the same fate of koya .I also advise Mr umakant sharma to stay indoors and aviod playing tournaments for his own safety.

  4. Dear Sir,

Congratulations ! Finally CPAI has waken up to show that it is Indian Chessplayers national body who is supposed to look-after the interests of indian chess players and come up for all sot of cheatings. To me, Cheating includes all sort of unfair means used by anyone and includes, players, organisers, CPAI, AICF and all its affiliates.

Hence we have to look into the various chdeating modes of AICF - the national body first:

    1. AICF does not have any valid consitutution. Valid means duly approved by the Registrar of Socieities, Chennai with all its amendments. AICF's const. on its swebsite is a farce i.e. it is arbiterary, unapproved.

I have a good list of cheatings by various chess organisations, with documentary proofs, but let us see, if CPAI is bold enough to publish it.

To start with, I request you to obtain a legal - duly certified copy of AICF constitution and put it on your website. If CPAI is truely a players body of indian chessplayers and all elite are members, it should not be a difficult thing - let us hope CPAI proves it.

Else in next post - Thanks

  5. Okey, once you have published the first one here are a few others:

AICF is the national body to promote chess in the country but instead of promoting chess and support the tournament organisers, it has started abusing, threatening the organisers and national chessplayers, who take part in such tournament otherise, they have to be in league with AICF.

For example, undersigned had the credit to organised India's biggest ever prize money chess tournament in India Rs. 15 lakhs prize money, with nominal entry fee of Rs. 1000 only which included free accommodation and to and fro transport also. But, AICF started looking Chess Association of India as a threat to its existance and in all, around 100 chess websites in India published that CAI's tournament are not approved by AICF and anybody taking part will be punished, suspended.

In fact many have already been punished. I can submit record.

Why, are they the promoters or crusaiders of the game.

CAI sent all its champions to participate in Malaysia open rated chess tournament, free of cost with free boarding and lodging, even FIDE allowed them, then how come AICF is threatening the players to not to particiapte or face consequences.

If, AICF & CPAI are really for indian chess, it is required that "Rs. 11 lakhs National B chess at Saharanpur (24 Oct. to 31st Oct.) should be published on both AICF and CPAI site with the recommendation that all should participate - Mind it, AICF's National B chess Champ;ionship had a meagre prize fund of Rs. 2 lakh only.

Rs. 25 lakhs Piloo Mody tournament is due in DEc. 2010 at Lucknow and same Rs. 1000 entry fee including free accommodation - can AICF do it - if not, are they not cheating on indian players by charging hafty entry of Rs. 8000 Plus and Rs. 25,000 for Commonwealth -

Commonwealth cheating is another separate chapter, how AICF is cheating playeers, Govt., and participating countries , details will be submittted in next posting. thanks

  6. players think one thing low entry fee good prize fund with good accommodation of CAI or heavy entry fees no respect for low rated players and unrated players of AICF, y should players not have right to play tournament of his choice.bcoz it will break Aicf's monopoly but think competition will bring betterment for players.

  9. well players there is a tournament called ASIAN INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP where players above 2300 or above 2350 r allowed but in equivalent European individual championship any player can take part...............y such difference

  10. Sir,

I wish, some one of our GMs & IMs come forward and either ask AICF the reasons for not allowing registered players to participate in biggest ever prize money tournaments. considered Rs. 11 lac nat. B by CAI against Rs. 2 lakh by AICF

another Piloo mody will e in DEcv. with 25 lakh prize fund. let them equate this with AICF's Parsvanath and chennai open, as prize money, entry and facilities.

AICF is a national body of promotion of chess and not de=promote chess sponsors, after all, how many sponsors are comig forwad in chess?

  13. all chess players of India "get united and fight against ur right to play chess."u get united they r bound to fall" and their fall will be very painful.

  14. step by step AICF is putting nails in its coufin - latest being rating of top players who particiapted in CAI tournaments is gone as they have done some criminal act. AICF is an organ of FIDE and probably they have not read the boycotts under the FIDE Rules
